How do I record a discussion?
On the main screen tap the large Record button and start talking. Tap Pause to pause and Resume to keep going in the same recording, then tap Stop when you're done. Spec can also auto-stop after a period of silence — adjust this in Settings.

Does my recording leave my phone?
No. Recording and transcription run on your iPhone, and your audio and transcript stay on your device. Only the transcript text is sent to our AI service to generate a document, and it isn't stored. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I turn a transcript into a requirements doc?
On the finished transcript, tap Refine and choose an output — a full PRD or user stories. Spec sends the text to our Claude AI service (this step needs an internet connection) and returns a structured document you can edit, then email with the native Mail composer or export as a PDF.
